Ghandruk village(1940m) is the second largest Gurung village located in Kaski District of the Gandaki Zone and the central hub for Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). Farm houses, Donkeys, mules transporting goods, mountain views, Rhododendron, ancient Gurung Village are some of the key features of Ghandruk. It is a popular place for trekking in the Annapurna range of Nepal.
Following mountains can be seen from Ghandruk:
a. Annapurna South: Height – 7219m
b. Hiunchuli: Height – 6441m
c. Gangapurna: Height – 7455m
d. Annapurna III : Height – 7555m
e. Machhapuchhare (Fishtail): Height – 6993m
How we reached Ghandruk:
From Pokhara we went to Birenthanti by a Jeep taking around 2.5 to 3 hours. Then we climbed up the steep hill for 4 – 5 hours to reach Ghandruk.
